Seamus has pink eye!
And he is only 26 days old His eye was tearing last night. I thought he had poked himself in the eye. When he got up for his 5 am feeding, his eye was stuck shut with goop and mucous!! I cleaned it with a cotton ball and warm water and put him back to bed. I got up at 8 and called the ped that was on call
He said it sounded like he has conjuntivitis!! He called in a prescription for eye drops. I have put them in twice and it looks a little better. He isnt finishing his bottles and has slept most of the day, so I am thinking he isnt feeling well
I have to take him to the ped in the morning for them to look at his eye
I dont know how he got it. I am a stickler for washing hands before touching him. DH & I are the only ones that have been around him this week. We are thinking maybe DH came in contact with it at work (he works at a bank) and bought it home
Now Dh and I have to be careful we dont get it too!!
I feel so bad for Seamus

Re: Seamus has pink eye!
It sounds like a clogged tear duct to me. Which is fairly common....DS's eye would get all goopy too...
Is his eye red? If not Im going to say it's probably a clogged tear duct.

DD has the goopy eye too...been to the ped about it and she said it's a clogged tear duct. there's not much you can do but wipe it clean with a warm washcloth and massage the duct. our ped said we should only be concerned if it doesn't go away by 6 mths OR if the eye itself gets red or the eye lid is swollen.
