second interview
THEY CALLED!!!!! I have a second interview on Monday!!! I'm so freakin excited, I literally jumped out of my chair when they called! HAHA!!!
Anyhow, the first interview was with the director and assistant director of the porgram. This interview will be with the two social workers who would be my peers. Any advice on how to go about this interview? I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time!!!

Re: second interview
First off, congrats!! That's awesome.
I personally would focus a lot on what the responsibilities and day to day activities are that come up for the social work dept.
Also try to ask questions so you can get an overall feel of the environment, who you report to, what is the supervision like, who should be your go-to peer with little day to day issues that may come up, are there shared tasks, random things that may be weird if you aren't use to them as part of your current work........

Re: second interview
Thanks, now that you write that it makes sense. More of a "whats you real job" so I can get a feel of how the typical day would go. Thanks again that totally changed my view of how to proceed with the interview.

Re: second interview
I find that peers tend to be more honest vs. supervisors/directors.
With that said though, sometimes I take what peers say with a grain of salt.
They may be burnt out, personality is negative sometimes, etc. but it's good because they tend to be more of your support network on a day to day basis.
At least in places I have worked.
Good luck again!

Re: second interview
I was a little turned off in the initial interview because the director and assistant director pointed out that they have not gotten a raise in three years. You could tell it was a bit of a gripe with workers. They made a point of saying the pay scale was pretty rigid because they don't want a new hire to make more than current workers.
So I would assume the social workers can't be any more negative.....haha!
