Second time this week hit with nausea/light headedness in morning... BUMP FOR UPDATE #2
Monday it was while I was driving to work, which was scary. Now, I had the keys in my hand headed out the door and was hit again... light headedness, weak, nausea, kind of extra saliva in my mouth and having to take deep breaths.
I'm lying down now and will have to be late for work because obviously I'm not going to drive like this.
I'm 31 weeks 5 days... anyone else feel like this at this point? any clue what it is?
I woke up at 7:30am and didn't eat breakfast yet when I felt like this... I'm having cereal now but still feel weak.
An hour without eating shouldn't cause this, right? What could it be??
UPDATE: So, I called my perinatologist and he wants me to go to my primary doctor to have an EKG and an echocardiogram done since I still don't feel better after eating. My parents are picking me up to take me there since I still feel whoozy.
UPDATE #2: Went to doc... he checked me out. Said I was "kosher" when he listened to my heart and lungs with the stethoscope. My BP was perfect. Did an EKG and it was perfect. Have to go to another doc for an echocardiogram. He took blood to check for other stuff - including anemia. While I am happy nothing is blatantly wrong, I'm scared that I don't know how to prevent that feeling again. I really didn't feel 100% better until about 5pm. I'm scared that I can get that terrible feeling at any point and I refuse to drive feeling like that. DH thinks I should stay home the rest of the week, but I'm going to play it by ear. I'm running out of sick/personal time VERY quickly and I wanted to use it all for AFTER the baby came! Thank you so much for the hugs and well wishes!

Did you call your OB? I felt light headed when I was prego with DS and wound up being anemic. had to take separate iron pills and it helped
Feel well and call your Doc!

Low blood pressure. Dehydrated.
I passed out at the beginning of this pregnancy, turns out my blood pressure was low. I was told to not get out of my bed until I ate and drank something.
Also, laying down was a good thing. He told me the worst thing I could've done is sit up b/c the blood doesn't flow back to your head.

I had this a few times with my first two pg. I keep some candy (sugar) and a granola bar in my purse. Eat before you leave. I think it's low blood sugar

Are you on any meds? I'm on Procardia and the nurse described the lightheadedness/nausea as a side effect sometimes.

I am on Procardia, but I've been on it for a couple of weeks and the nurse at the doctor's office said I should have gotten used to it by now.
And I'm wrong with the second time thing... I actually also felt the same way on Saturday AFTER I had eaten already.
I'm intrigued by the anemia thing... I'm definitely goig to bring that up to my doctor when I see him on Friday and have them test me for it.
Thank you, ladies. I'm still lying down and feel about 75% better... but not completely. I was crying before because I how bad I felt and how scary it was to feel this way by myself. I'm just glad I wasn't driving when it hit this time!

It's very possible that you need to eat something as soon as you wake up. I fainted once during my pregnancy, ended up in the emergency room and they said not eating the right meals is why that happens to a lot of women.
They told me to eat more protein. Carbs will burn right through you and protein will last longer.

Good Luck!! hope everything is okay!!
I sometimes feel like that, but it gets better after some time so i've never been worried about it, but if its staying and not going away, i think it's best to be checked out!

Re: Second time this week hit with nausea/light headedness in morning... BUMP FOR UPDATE #2
I do this all the time. Usually when I'm in the operating room. I get all sweaty and breathe funny so everyone else catches it before I do. I think it is my blood pressure. Try taking your blood pressure lying down, sitting, and standing (they call it orthostatics). If it's different your blood pressure might be low when you stand up causing you to get lightheaded. It happens more when I'm dehydrated or if I haven't eaten. My blood pressure is always on the lower side anyway...
Talk to your doc about it.
