secret santa gift for a crocheter.... quick update

i'm part of a group of co-workers that hangs out outside of work. we're doing a pollyanna. the person whose name i got is a crafter. she mostly crochets.

in some of our talks, she's shared that she's never really worked with "nicer" yarns... so i thought i would buy her enough "nice" yarn to make herself something.

do you think that would be a nice gift?

I think that would be a wonderful gift. I know that there are certain yarns that I'd LOVE to work with but they are very expensive. However, if someone bought them for me, that'd be great!

And you can take advantage of coupons! Michael's and AC Moore both have good coupons for this week! Or visit a specialty yarn shop! I know there is one in Farmingdale on Main Street!

quick update:

i gave her an alpaca, merino, tencel blend, worsted weight yarn in a blue/green color. i printed two crochet cowl patterns.

i also threw in a mini-hank i already had around of 100% alpaca in beige for her to play with.

i put them both inside a pretty box and then put the box inside the yarn store shopping bag. i thought i would do them a little advertising... they're my favorite yarn store and they're about 10 minutes from her house.

she squealed with joy and did what i usually do with yummy yarns: she rubbed it against her skin and ooohed and aaaahed.

i felt very good that she was happy!!!
