Secret Santa gift question - would you stick to the limit??
At my work secret santa, the person I got is a friend. I get her DD a bday and Christmas gift, but we have never exchanged gifts for each other. That said, this year we have gotten closer where my DH and I have gone out for dinner and we talk more etc.
We have a $25 limit. Would you stick to this or spend more considering she is a friend?
I would not have gotten her a Christmas gift otherwise (just because we haven't before and I wouldn't want her to feel bad since she's most probably not getting me something).

if you spent another $5-10, i wouldn't worry because it is your friend, but try to stick to the $25 as best as you can!

I never count tax or shipping in the cost (if it applies to the gift). I try to stay close to the cost, but often edge a little bit above. If it's $25, I would save the Lexus for a gift outside of the office...

stick to the limit...since its a SS for the office. you could always get her a little something extra that is given outside the office

I would try to stay as close to $25 as possible. Maybe $5 over is the max I would go. I wouldnt want other people, who stayed within the $25 to get annoyed that I went over! kwim?

I would say stick to the limit. You can still get something very nice/thoughtful for $25!!!

Re: Secret Santa gift question - would you stick to the limit??
We stick to the limit at my school because we're all pretty much friends with each other and open our gifts at our holiday party where everyone oohs and aahs at what they got, so I wouldn't want anyone else to feel bad if I spent more. What we do, instead, is since we have to leave clues everyday for a week as to who we are, if we get our friends, we leave little gifts with each clue
