someone called and asked if we accepted section8 housing?

Don't you have to be zoned for that ??
I don't think just any rental can be Section 8 -


Personally, I wouldn't want to get involved in that - especially if you are an inexperienced landlord.

I'm pretty sure a portion of your rent is paid by the tennants, and the remainder by the Gov't - However, the rent is capped -

I believe there is a process you have to go through to become section 8.

I also thought that once you become section 8, you can't go back. It's always section 8 housing. I might be wrong, but that is what a previous landlord told me.

I'm at work & don't have anything with me, but I'll FM you the info I have tonight. My rentals are in Suffolk but I can point you in the right direction.
And no you don't have to be 'zoned', I'm pretty sure that would be discrimination of sorts.

I think you are limited to what you can charge for rent though, no? I don't want to say rent controlled per se, but similar, isn't it?
