Seeing moms and daughters
We took my son to a gymboree class today and there was a mom there with her son and she had her mom there. The Grandma was just beaming at her grandson and taking pictures.
I had to walk away.....I teared up instantly. Maybe it is the preggo hormones. Just makes me sad that my mom never got to see my kids.

Re: Seeing moms and daughters
i totally understand, and it really SUCKS. i lost my mom before my two kids were born and i know she would have been the best grandma in the world. i get so sad all the time, especially at my kids bdays or recitals. and then i get angry. really mad that she was taking from me way too soon. i wanted you to know your not alone to feel upset.

Re: Seeing moms and daughters
I completely feel your pain... I felt it during pregnancy and now that the babies are here. I notice it at the mall especially.... there are TONS of new moms with their babies and grandma in tow. It makes me so sad and I miss that bond terribly.

Re: Seeing moms and daughters
I'm with you. I know how you feel.
I just got married and teared up watching moms/daughters at the dress store, registering, at a tea party, bridal expos, etc.
I just bought my first house and my mom is missing it. I'm scared of how I'll feel when I'm preggo.
It really stinks that our moms are missing these big milestones.

Re: Seeing moms and daughters
I can relate - my mom and I havent spoken in years... And although I have a stepmother, she is not the kind that does things like go places with me for baby stuff, dr. appts, etc.... she was hardly around for my wedding planning too....
I want a daughter so I can have that type of relationship with her!

Re: Seeing moms and daughters
its such an empty feeling when i see mothers and daughters together..i think "why don't i have my mom." or "does she know how lucky she is that her mom is around." its very frustrating. and most people take it for granted. they have no idea.

Re: Seeing moms and daughters
my sister had such a hard time with this- she worked at a pre-school and seeing the mothers come with their mothers- was way too much for her

I feel that all the time....raising my boys, going through the daily routines without having her here to vent/cry with/laugh with like all my girlfriends can with their mothers

Re: Seeing moms and daughters
I kind of feel the same way.
I don't have any kids.(at this moment)
But i used to feel so jealous of my friends who still had their Mothers.
