Selden Area

We are looking around for houses and we found this pretty nice Split in Selden. It's North of Hawkins Road and West of Boyle Road. It's one of those developments where it borders Centereach, Port Jefferson Station and Selden. I think it's called Holiday Park. Is anyone familiar with that area? I've heard some nice and not so nice things about Selden and since we are not from this area, it's hard to us to understand the area. The house is in a pretty good condition, but it just needs some personal touches to it. We really loved it, but not so sure about the area. Can you guys give me honest opinion or FM if you wish!

I used to live in Selden.

That area is pretty nice. Its when you get into the areas bordering Farmingville where its less desirable. When you are North of Rt 25 it becomes more of a family neighborhood feel and people respect their properties more.

Its convenient to everything. Grocery stores, Smithaven Mall, easy LIE access from Nicolls or No. Ocean, Lots of restaurants, etc.

I grew up two blocks away. I loved growing up there. It is a nice area, everyone takes care of their property and it is a great family area. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I am pretty much in the same area - but on the Centereach side. I love it over here.

the area you are looking in is very nice. Actually most of it is nice now. Even the less desirable areas have really cleaned up. It is very accessible, descent school district. Good luck :)
