Sellers- I never thought we would have an accepted offer...
after less than a week on the market! 
How long did you keep showing your house after you accepted an offer?

until your in contract.
We had the same thing-- 2 offers from the first weekend on the market. One we rejected, another we accepted.
We ended up dropping our original accepted offer and getting another buyer because they were being a major PITA!
You never know when you are going to need someone else interested! Congrats!

The RE agent said we will show until we get a mortgage commitment. Is that before of after contract? You would think I should know this being we already bought one house and are in contrct for our 2nd.

That's after the contract. You can keep showing while you're in contract, but since the REAs are required to tell people that the house is in contract, you probably won't get as many people willing to come see the house.

Congrats!
Yeah it happens.. the first house I put an offer on was on the market on Thursday and I had my offer in on Tuesday, they had three others and narrowed down to anothers and ours by that following Thursday and were on Contract by the next Monday! I lost out but it was fast!

most people stop showing after the contracts are signed- in fact it wont show up as available on agent MLS once it's in contract
is there a reason why she thinks they wont get a mortgage?
are they pre-approved? (I would hope so- I have never submitted an offer with out it)
if I was the buyers agent and the house was still being shown - after my buyers paid for an inspection and went into contract - and put money down-I would be upset

Beth - I would be upset too if I was the buyers. Thats why I was wondering if other people continue to show. I will have to ask her more about her reasoning. I'll FM you about the mortgage.

Congrats!! That's fantastic...
Our house has been on the market for 4 weeks now-- we have had some offers but distgusting ones to say the least.. I am not worried though, Our neighborhood sells... It will come.. I just hope sooner than later--- WE are closing on our new house on Tuesday...
On another note-- Was the contract signed already? If it is than I thought it would be a done deal but if not there is that chance that someone could come in with a cash deal and that in my book trumps everything.. It would be worth it to pay the inspection costs if that was done.. Cash to me==no hassles....
As my FIl says ( he is a real estate laywer) nothing is set in stone until an actual contract is signed by both parties...

my friend just bought a house and the house she was buying stayed on the MLS until the day they closed!! They did have signed contracts, an inspection and a significant down payment and they still showed and had the house listed on MLS.
