Selling Designer Bags
My dh mentioned the other day that maybe I should sell my designer bags as I have not used most of them for MANY years. Has anyone done this and did you make a profit?

Re: Selling Designer Bags
Do it on Ebay! My Aunt does and she makes anywhere between 50-200 on each bag.

Re: Selling Designer Bags
I sold off most of my collection
I didn't make more then I spent- so I don't consider that a profit
but I got back at least 50% or more of what I paid

Re: Selling Designer Bags
Yes and yes! Ebay
1. make sure to sell from an account that has a solid feedback history 2. take lots of good clear photos, upload them to a photo hosting site like photobucket, and direct link into the text of your listing so you can get large free pictures and take closeups of buttons/other details that show authenticity 3. write a detailed description using proper grammar and show that you speak English 4. watermark your photos so people dont steal them 5. list a bunch at a time and encourage people to check out your other auctions 6. use a detailed listing title (ex: "coach large signature pleated gallery tote" v. "coach bag") so it pops up in more searches
etc
In college I became an expert at authenticating Coach and LV bags, would buy authentic bags with crappy listings, clean up the bags and relist with large clear photos and a detailed description and I made TONS of money. I also knew which bags were in demand and what a "deal" was (where I could relist at a profit). Bankrolled my large designer purse collection (I could justify spending $$$ if it was all profit from purse reselling)
good luck!
Edit: as far as making a profit, if you paid full retail for the bags initially you are unlikely to make a profit unless it's a rare discontinued item that is in demand. however, LV bags never go on sale and the price only increases so you might actually be able to make a profit on those! really depends on the bag and the condition
