Selling your home and your credit score?
When you sell your home does your FICO score go up or down or stay the same? Since we'll be selling the house we're hoping that will up our FICO score. Anyone know? TIA!

Re: Selling your home and your credit score?
It's possible it may go up since you are removing a debt off your report (that's assuming you don't buy a new house).
If you sell your house and then rent it will take about 1-2 months for your credit report to update with the debt paid off.
But there is really no way to tell if it will go up because real estate debt is considered "good debt" so it's probably not hurting your credit in the first place.
