Re: Senseo Pod Coffee Maker

I got one in a free promo. It's a very handy system. Their coffee is very nice. The coffee comes out frothy and creamy-tasting, even when you use generic coffee pods. You make individual servings. Little cleaning needed.

I would use it more often if I could find the Pods for sale near me. Chat Icon You can buy the Senseo pods online. I think they're expensive, though. I hear you can buy the pods at Walmart, but I won't shop at Walmart.

They sent me another email recently and are running another free promo for their coffee maker and samples. They say to give the link to friends, too. You have to fill out a survey and get accepted. Here's the link.

Re: Senseo Pod Coffee Maker

Never had the Senseo...

I did buy the Tassimo and hated it! I ended up selling the machine and all of the pods I bought on ebay! The coffee always tasted burnt to me.

My SIL has the Keurig and I love it! The coffees and teas are always hot, although I am not sure if they sell a cappuccino pod for this model.

Hope that helps!!!

Thanks!! I just did it. I have been pricing them and this one seems the best. Its cheaper and easier than going to starbucks/dunkin donuts every morning.

Have you had the cappucino from them?

I hope you get a free one!

I haven't tasted the cappucino. The Paris French Vanilla is good.

I'm not sure if this machine could be a top-notch replacement for Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts. MrsNYPDsGirl's post reminded me about something -- the coffee isn't steaming hot -- the way you would get it at the shops. But it was free, so I couldn't really complain.

Also, when counting the pods, I'd say that 1 pod makes about 3/4-mug full. DH runs the 2-cup option with 1 pod. Or I think he puts 2 pods in, sometimes. I just saw the promo for the subscription plan, it looks new. So for less than 30 cents a cup, that's not bad at all, compared to the shops. I think I'm gonna buy some of that French Vanilla.

I have the senseo and keurig(both were free promo offers)
I like the senseo for the most part. I do find the pods to be a bit pricey. To make a full cup you need to use 2 pods each time. So a bag of 18 pods goes pretty quick! The cappuccino is ok(tastes pretty weak to me).

I have a filter for this where you can just put your own coffee in so you don't even have to buy the k-cups.Chat Icon

Re: Senseo Pod Coffee Maker

I have a Tassimo which I like but the selection of Tea and Coffee isn't much to talk about.

My ILs have one. I don't love the coffee. It's different, but I prefer regular coffee.

Angela,
Why do you say that the Tassimo is horrible? I just got one 2 weeks ago and it is terrific. It is a great machine and very easy to use and clean.
My father in law has one and he loves his, and his neighbor has one and they love theres.
The pods can run $4.00 to $8.00 at Target, depending on what beverage you want. You can make teas, coffee, cappaccino, and lattes. Bed Bath and Beyond, and LNT also sell the pods, but I found Target to be cheapest. You can also buy them from the company.
Danielle registered the Tassimo on their website and we received two free packages of Coffee Pods. I got one Cappacino and one LAtte.
The coffee is delicious and it really tastes like coffee you would get at Starbucks or any other types of coffee house.

Re: Senseo Pod Coffee Maker

We had it at my old office and it was very 'tempermental'.

it took quite a bit longer to brew the coffee than a keurig did.

the coffee pods did not produce a full cup of coffee (8 oz) whereas the keurig does.

and in my opinion, the green mtn coffee tastes better than what tassimo provides.

Sometimes we would even waste a pod or two before the machine decided to brew the coffee.

and the machine was not old, it was a few months old at best!

Re: Senseo Pod Coffee Maker

Maybe you had a lemon. I read all of the reviews on a bunch of different sites before I decided on the Tassimo. It got rave reviews.

As far as brewing goes, I am happy with the amount of coffee I get per cup, but there is a way to stretch out the amount that goes into the cup. I read it in the book, but dont remember right now how to do it...
