Seriously, how hard is it to spell S-E-A-N?

GRANDMA?????????

Dear MIL:

My son's name is spelled Sean, not SHAWN. I realize you've only seen him twice in his 3 years, but can you at least spell his name right on his birthday card? And stop wondering why we spelled it the "Irish" way. I'm IRISH!!! Oh, and his baby brother, who you've never seen, will be one next month and his name is KEVIN.

OH MY!!

For YEARS my MOTHER spelled my sisters name (Victoria) Vicky.....she prefers it VICKI!!

And she has ALWAYS pronounced my name wrong....she throws a W into it making it Shawna. UGH.

I always thought Shawn was the female spelling for Sean.

Hate that!! I remember my brother calling me to ask how to spell my nephews name before sending a card. But hello that's a little harder then Sean. It's 4 freaking letters?

There was once a hurricane with another variation of my name and my father said, hey look: it's your hurricane. I said: too bad they didn't spell it right. He looks confused... ...wait, how do you spell your name?

DH used to ask me how to spell Maddie's name. Finally I yelled at him "She's two - either learn it or her stepdad will!"

BTW, to make you fell better MIL still spells Aidan's name with an 'E' - (aiden as do many others) But I love her so I let it slide

That is funny, and by the way, I prefer the "Irish" spelling of the name... :)

I have a friend who named her son Finn, and her mother in law keeps calling him Finnigan...she is like his name is not Finnigan its JUST plain old FINN!!!!

wow, I'm sorry!

My grandma still spells my name with 2 "L"'s, I spell michele with one L. It's so annoying, people tell me i spell it wrong.

For those of you who've heard my MIL stories... For the others, she lives in Tampa, but it might as well be Uzbekistan.

In the grand scheme of things I guess it's not *that* big of a deal. My own father thought my first name was spelled with a "C" until I was 16.

My aunt was 18 when I was born. She always spelled my name right UNTIL she had kids of her own. So when I was 17, she started adding an 'e' to the end of my name! I laughed especially hard when she sent me something personalized!!!
