I have never been to SP Chat Icon but my inlaws live in the area. Thought I'd share some hotel recs. They are all super-close to SP. Look up "Oxford Valley" to find them when booking.

Red Roof Inn- probably the cheapest. Most rooms are small but it is very clean. No pool. No breakfast.

Holiday Inn Express- pricier and nicer with bigger rooms. The rooms we have stayed in have king beds and sofas (not sure if they pull out). Cinnamon rolls at breakfast are awesome (and included). We haven't stayed in a while because we just found the RR much more economical. Has outdoor pool.

Courtyard Marriot- very nice- we stayed at Christmas and they gave us a substantial discount when we checked in. I believe there is an indoor pool. Nice lobby. Breakfast is available but not included. (food was good)

It seems like every chain restaurant on the planet is in the area though it seems like quite a few have gone under recently. Borders and Barnes and Noble are also there, both with cafes. We also like IHOP. It usually gets mobbed and you can never time it but the turnover seems quick.
