Severe Diaper Rash?
My DD has a really severe diaper rash (I think.) Her privates are bright red and blotchy--it's scary! Has anyone been through this before? Know any causes? Should I call the ped?

Ryan will get a pretty bad diaper rash after eating too many berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, black berries etc). I think the poop from the berries is acidic and unfortunately burns his butt.
I usually just load up heavily on desitin and it will take care of it within a day or 2.
He also had a terrible diaper rash once after he was on a heavy round of antibiotics post op. It was actually a yeast rash that required a prescription of Nystacin to get rid of it.

You might want to call the ped, around that age, my niece had that and it turned out to be a yeast infection

I think I am going to. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, but it looks horrific. It's that bad!

Desitin maximum strength worked for us. DS got a terrible raw open rash and it was the only thing that worked.

DS got terrible one while he was on an antibiotic. Triple paste cleared it up overnight.
