Severe Morning Sickness
Hi,Whoever named it moring sickness should be shot. Mine is all day every day. I am 8 weeks 5 days and so sickI throw up constantly. Today I called the dr again, and he wanted me to go to the hospital for some IV, but after speaking he told me to up my dose of Zofran from 4mg to 8mg at a time. If that didn't work to call back and go to the hsopital. Well it has stopped me from throwing up, but hasn't stopped me from feeling like I could at any minute! My questions:Anybody gone through this? What did you take? What else can I take? Anyone try Emetrol?

Re: Severe Morning Sickness
I went through it BIGTIME! I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis, both p/g's. The first time I vomited morning noon and night for 20-22 weeks. I was in the hospital for dehydration more times than I can count. They would admit me for a few days and give me Regalan(they did not have Zofran in my last p/g) and IV. I would come home for a day or two and then back in for a few days. It was very depressing and made me hate being p/g. I lost 10lbs, which was alot for me and did not put any weight on until I was probably around 6-7 months. This time I took Zofran from the get go and It did help a little. I vomited a little less but still felt like crap all the time. I only wound up in the hospital once this time around. But I did live on my couch with my mom and DH taking care of DD and the house. It only lasted 17 weeks this time. I forced myself this time to just keep drinking no matter how much I threw up, because I did not want to leave DD to be in the hospital for weeks on end. It is not easy, but you will get through it. I feel your pain and do not envy your position right now. As hard as it is, try to stay positive and if you need IV get it, you will feel better if you are hydrated. Good Luck to you!

Re: Severe Morning Sickness
I had ms for about 4 months it was beyond a nightmare i was in the hospital 3 times everytime they gave me an IV drip with Zofran I felt great as soon as it (the drip) would stop I was back to the same nightmare! When the hosptial would tell there is nothing else that they could do for me and I was being discharged I would stress I wanted to stay there with the drip in my arm! I was not throwing up I was just gaggging , dry heaving I think I would have been better if i were throwing up but it does not feel good not matter what! Hang in there!

Re: Severe Morning Sickness
Sorry to hear you are feeling so under the weather.
I am one of those lucky gals that never experienced morning sickness so I have no words of wisdom.
But I hope you feel better soon!

Re: Severe Morning Sickness
my dose of zofran went up from 4mg to 8, I am 11 weeks and started the 8 at around 8 weeks. I still get sick, mostly when I get up before I take my pill, and in the evening. Evening is much worse for me I puke like 3 or 4 times, and if i am driving i have to pull over and puke on the side of 495 on my way home. I really hope it goes away soon, i called out sick from work so many times. Saltines sometimes help, and eating carbs, the vomiting gets worse when my sugar is low. Hang in there, I feel your pain!!!
