Severe Sciatic Nerve pain :o( Need remedies FAST!
I'll be 28 wks on Thurs ans been dealing w/ this pain for over 2 mos (didn't experience this w/ DS). I've tried ice, heat, tylenol, stretching (DH suggested & it worked @ first, but now my belly is in the way).
I'm afraid to goto a Chiropractor. I'd LOVE to get a massage, but money is too tight right now.
Any other suggestions?!?! I'm desperate. The pain is now going up my back and down my thigh! When I told the PA @ OB's office, she suggested a pre-natal massage, that's it.

im in the same boat you are.. im 23 weeks and my sciatica just got REAL bad the past couple of days
it only happens to me when im sleeping or just waking up so i havent been doing anything about it

I used to sleep on my side with a pillow between my legs...
The only other stretch is the "cat stretch" which I know is easier said than done when your belly gets bigger

I really think the chiropractor is your best bet. I am 38w and the only thing that has helped me for 5-6 days at a time were the prenatal massages, but you are right - they are $$$. I think weekly chiropractor visits would be perfect, and will only cost a copay.
I had two bad attacks today. For one I was in the shower and on my hands and knees for a good five minutes trying to recover, and the other I almost fell down the stairs because it caught me off guard, and DH had to catch me.
I hope that you feel better soon and can figure something out!

I think this pose really helped me as well! And it feels really good while you are doing it -- just make sure someone is home to help you up when you first try it out, LOL

I had the same thing around that time. It was HORRIBLE so I know what you're going through. To be honest I tried it all and the only thing that worked for me and I'm NOT kidding was sex.
For some reason the position I was in shifted the baby off my nerve and I haven't had anything since then. It took a day, but was perfect then.

LOL! I will have DH help me with that tonight. Last night I attempted the stretching I used to do- oh man, it was not easy and it hurt! 
Think I am going to see if I can get an appt with a chiropractor this week!

A friend of mine went through this and she said that acupuncture helped her a lot.

My friend recommended pregnancy yoga to stretch out. She says it helped her. Unfortunately, nothing has helped me yet
