Sewage smell in bathroom
Lately I've been smelling sewage in the bathroom and it seems to be coming from the toilet. What could this be?

Re: Sewage smell in bathroom
Your main sewer line may be clogged. You may want to call City Sewer or some other sewer company.
Not a big deal usually. I had this happen to me and it cost about $250 to have it pumped and cleared.

Do you have a cesspool? If you have a cesspool/septic tank, it probably needs servicing, I'd call someplace ASAP, you don't want it to back up into your house!

Re: Sewage smell in bathroom
It may be the wax seal at the base of the toilet eroded and sewer gas is seeping through. Have it addressed ASAP because sewer gas is as deadly as carbon monoxide.....

DH is a plumber and he agrees--it's methane gas ,not combustable but could get you sick with the bacteria.
