share your NYE menu

If you're entertaining at home this year, what will you be serving for appetizers and main course? this is the first year that i am doing it, and i don't know what to serve................i don't want anything too crazy complicated, but something better than just pigs in a blanket (although now come to think of it, those are damn good ) maybe share a recipe or two? TIA! Happy New Year!

we always do filet mignons for nye- mmm. for apps this year, probably spanikopitas (those greek spinach pies, you can buy frozen and then pop in oven), bruschetta, hot spin and artichoke dip, maybe cheese fondue and veggies and bread, stuffed mushrooms, mini meatballs in duck sauce. we snack and snack for hours, and then eat dinner late, around 10 or 11.

DH decided to have a small party - of 10 people.

Here's what I plan to make :

Cocktails !

Apps - cheeses, dried sausage, crackers, my friend's spinach dip.
might add to this, might not.

Dinner :
Cider glazed fresh roast ham
Pan gravy
Garlic smashed potatoes
Red cabbage
Roasted brussel sprouts with pancetta
Buttered or creamed peas
Dinner rolls

Dessert :
Cream Puffs
Assorted holiday cookies
Coffee, tea

I think it's just going to be me and DH this year, and I'm pregnant so the menu is consisting of total junk food, chicken wings and mozzarella sticks with homemade marinara sauce. We're also making slow cooker spinach and artichoke dip.

We're going to a friend's house most likely. I'm thinking of bringing buffalo chicken dip, greek layer dip and maybe the kit kat cake.

honey chili chicken wings breasts and thighs
cheese fondue
fig jam goat cheese and proscuitto bruschetta

I'm going to a friends house. I made a ziti for Christmas and she took it home and froze it. So there will be that!

Outside of that.. I don't know what she's having!

i usually make a mix of the following of my 'go to' apps.

buffalo chicken dp
swedish meatballs
crabmeat dip
baked clam dip
puffed pastry with goat cheese, shallots and balsamic honey glaze
breadsticks wrapped in in soppressata
fresh mozzerella with sundried tomotoes
chili dip
homemade guacamole
pigs in a blanket-made with crescent rolls
stuffed crescent rolls with broc and cheese
pampered chef spinach artichoke dip
gorgonzola stuffed baby red potatoes
sandwich pinwheel rolls

we are going to SIL's but I am bringing....

sweet and sour cocktail meatballs
-mini meatballs that you cook in a jar of chili sauce, can of beer and cup of chili mixed together. DELISH! i can get the exact recipe if you want.

i usually host but our friends had a baby this year and requested we go there, i am gonna miss cooking. In the past i have made:

homemade potato skins
fried ravioli w/ homemade marinara
parm crusted chicken nuggets
chicken & spinach wrapped in bacon
mini reuben's
reuben dip
buffall chicken dip
chili dip
spinach artichoke dip
pizza
swedish meatballs
pulled pork
sliders
buffalo chicken sliders

Here a fondue recipe I have used and Love it!

Cheese Fondue

Serves 2-4

1 cup white wine (I used Riesling)
1 1/4 cups shredded gruyere
1 cup shredded emmentaler cheese (or another form of swiss cheese)
1-2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 garlic clove
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Rub fondue pot with garlic cloves. Chop clove in half and mince. Combine with a sprinkle of salt and mash with your knife to create a paste.

Bring wine to a simmer. Toss shredded cheese with cornstarch. Add cheese to wine in batches, stirring constantly until smooth. Add garlic paste and nutmeg and stir.

Serve with bread, fruit, and vegetables.

DH and I are going to my cousing house for NYE. she is cooking and i am baking.

i think she's making stuffed shells, crab legs, spinach pies, rice pilaf, and idk what else......

i'm making a cheesecake, brownies, some kind of cookie (idk what kind yet), and pumpkin pie or cupcakes...

still gotta decide

3 couples are chipping in on an order. We're getting:

cold cut platter from Zans (roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, turkey with salads, pickles, and rye bread)

1/2 tray of ziti with meatballs from Umberto's (right next door to Zans! )

Also, a cheese platter, veggie platter,-not sure about dessert yet.

We are just having my Brother and SIL over. For dinner we are doing spaghetti and meatballs with salad and garlic bread (as per my brothers request!)

I have NO clue about appetizers, probably something light.

Tuscan stuffed mushrooms (Giada has the best )RECIPE!
veggies with dip, maybe hummus IDK!

There will only be 4 of us so I am going to TRY not to go overboard!

Normally DH and I do Filet Mignon and Lobster Tails.
But this year were having all his cousins over (about 15!) for a little party.
