Shark Vac *then* Steam Mop!! -- UPDATE -- my review!!
I bought this for my tile, which is that slate-kind of tile with variations and while it's good at never looking dirty, it also gets dirty very easily...especially with all those little grooves. I have a LOT of tile on the first floor...my entire entryway, the kitchen, the breezway, and continuing to the 1/2 bathroom. A lot to clean.
First off, this thing is VERY easy to set up. Took me 2 minutes. It's purple and not heavy at all.
I vaccumed first with it, as recommended. I was apprehensive....it didn't look like it would do a good job, but it sure did! Note - vaccuum is VERY loud.
Then, I used the little measuring tool and funnel to pour in some water. It heated for 30 seconds and I was on my way. It starts up slowly, but all of a sudden, it really gains steam (no pun intended) to the point it of it being scary
Yes, some spots I had to go over a few times, but no biggie. A good trick is to do it in a few different directions..it helps.
Sometimes you have to pause on an area that you really want cleaned well to have the steam build up, but again, was not an issue for me.
It takes A LOT to impress me, but this did.
My floors like a lot lighter, which only goes to show that it did it's job. They look great!
I wish it told me when I ran out of water, besides looking into the little window, but you just kind of know. I had to put more water in, but I'm just getting the hang of things here, so maybe I won't have to do that again next time during cleaning.
The floors dry super fast and were streak-free! The cord was super long, thank god...and it's cool to save on Swifter fluid and pads.
Would I steam mop every day? No. But I can see doing this 2x a week. It doesn't take that long at all.
Hope this helps someone!
.....review to follow!!!!
I can't wait for the "white sock" test.
