sharp pain in cervix
anyone have this? I'm 38+3, and besides the normal conractions that I feel on and off, I have felt this sharp, stabbing pain that takes my breath away. It only lasts a few seconds, but makes me stop in my tracks when I feel it. It's happened maybe 3-4 times in the last two days. Anyone know what this is?

I've been getting this too fairly regularly. I'm 37 weeks. I will ask my OB about it on Wednesday.

I've been getting this too. I think it's just the head with using down. I get it especially later in the evening when everything just seems heavy and low.

I had it from 32 weeks on and had steady contractions on and off from 33 weeks on. As it turned out, his head was what they called engaged. When he was born via csection, he had a indent around his head for 2 weeks from it.

she's taking too long!! had an appt last tues and was told I won't make it to the next one. I have another appt tomorrow and i'm so sad that I might actually be going to it :( lol

Sounds like "lightening crotch" totally normal. Sounds like baby dropped or is kicking you in that area.

could be baby grinding it's head down getting into position.
It's not fun and I remember this very vividly hurting like a B*tch.

well it meant nothing because my dr said maybe i'm dilating more, but i didn't progress at all from last week :( still fully thinned out, though. So annoyed and just want to get labor started- I've done so much walking and it's not really helping

Patience. I had the same pain until I went into labor at 40w4d. I never dilated and I was never effaced.

do you remember how long you had that pain for? Just curious.. And yeah i know i need to be patient, but it's so so difficult. I'm just hot and miserable!

I had this with all three kids. My OB said it was the baby pressing on a nerve. Not an enjoyable sensation.
