Sharp pain in stomach/side area?
What is below your belly button but above your "area"? If looking down, to the left? Does this make sense?
I have a sharp pain - almost feels like ovulation pain but not in the right area (unless things shift after giving birth that I'm not aware of as it's too high).
Feels almost like the cramp you get from running.
Any thoughts? Is that a major organ?

Re: Sharp pain in stomach/side area?
Don't know about organs in that area, but it sounds like gas. When I have sharp pains like that that hurt worst when I bend down to pick up something, and hurt least when i'm lying flat, it's always gas. Is that what you have?

I was going to say appendix, but that's on the left side....
The only thing really there is your intestines and your "lady bits"...

Re: Sharp pain in stomach/side area?
are you overweight?
i'm not asking to be nasty.... I had an internal sonogram last week and the re had to WORK (it took him a good ten minutes) to find my left ovary...because it was much HIGHER than it should've been.
my doc delicately said that 'women who are a little overweight sometimes have that issue'.

Actually, your appendix is on your right. That drawing you posted is as if that person were facing you, so your left is his right.
Unfortunately, I know this too well as I'm having pains on my lower right side and have been to 2 doctors already and they keep poking me to see if it's my appendix hurting.

My brain flip-flopped when I wrote that. I have no idea why I wrote "left". I was actually touching my appendectomy scar when I was writing this to see exactly where it was in relation to my navel. You'd think that I would know my right from my left by now....

No, but I saw your post on TTC a while ago and it did occur to me that some parts are higher up on some. I wondered if sometimes they shift after childbirth
Anyway, pain subsided (for now)
Thank you all!

did you have a c-section or natural childbirth, a friend had a c-sec. and the doctor did not put everything back exactly where they belong some organs are much higher up than they should be, her gyno now has problems when examining her

I almost did! They would come and go, so I had no idea. The Dr. said the sharp pain was a 'growing pain', stretching of the uterus I guess. Good luck!

Re: Sharp pain in stomach/side area?
your intestines and your colon could be the culprit .... irritable bowel syndrom / spastic colon / instestine infection / gas pain.
I know I get very very sharp pains in my colon area every one in a while. I always think it's my ovary then realizs the position of the pain and know it's my colon instead.
