She doesnt like the fetal monitor or is it the gel?

I get to hear heartbeat twice a day. Once in the morning and at night (and anytime I need reassurance) Well each time they put the gel on my belly and use the handheld monitor she kicks it. At first we thought it was a coincidence but no matter who does it or time she kicks it hard. My stomach is stretched really tight-do you think its the cold gel?? or pressure of the monitor she is responding to?

I think most babies instinctively kick at/move for the doppler. They react to the sound waves moving through the amniotic fluid.

The baby can hear the doppler now, someone told me that the doppler sounds like a helicopter over their head. It's def not the gel, it's the soundwaves of the doppler.

My DD started kicking and "runnin" away from the doppler around 20 weeks pg. I sent it back when I was 7 months pg cause I felt bad for her.

Its probably the sound of the doppler that she doesnt like. My DD did the same. I read somewhere that it can sound similar to a helicopter hovering over head. Who knows...but DD didnt like the sound either - it doesnt harm them, it just bugs them. I would have to chase her around my belly sometimes to get a good listen at her little heartbeat.

I know that last time we went, she bumped the wand right off my belly so there is some attraction there. She also looks directly at the screen all the time too!
