She swelled up like a balloon!!!
My poor dog! She must've gotten stung or bit by something yesterday and my husband had to rush her to the vet becasue her whole face swelled up. The vet gave her a Benedryl shot and some pills for her to take.
This morning, we wake to her BARFING all over the bed. While DH got started cleaning, I was going to take her outside. The swelling on her face was almost gone, but she had raised bumps ALL OVER her body. I freaked!!!
I gave her a benedryl and the swelling is down again. I called the vet, but they don't seemed especially concerned (which is a good thing, I suppose).
Is it possible that this is something other than a bite/sting? The first allergic reaction came yesterday morning. Wouldn't the toxins be almost out of her system by now?
I stayed home from my placement and class to take care of her- she's acting so sad..... Image Attachment(s):

I don't know what to do, but I just wanted to offer some hugs.  I hate when my fur baby is not feeling well. Its rare, but when they get sick its so awful to see. Hope your pooch feels better soon!

How is she doing? I feel so bad for her - it's so horrible when your baby gets sick - they can't even tell you what is wrong.

She's doing so much better. What caused the reaction is beyond me. She's obviously feeling like her old self again because she's bothering my poor kitties as I type.
Her gas is KILLING me though....

I'm so sorry! FYI- Katie has had allegic reactions (to shots) and she would get puffy and start throwing up. In addition to the benadryl the vet told us to give her children's chewable pepcid. She is 15lbs and we give her a 1/4 of a pill and it helps with her stomach. Any time her stomach gets upset we give this to her.
