Shoes for first day
Would you let your first grader wear those sketcher twinkle toe high top (to almost knee) on first day of school? I mean I let her get them but I am on the fence. LOL I don't know why. SHe really wants to wear them.

Ha ha no, I know she doesn't want to dress up more. And while I think the shoes are cute on her, I'm not sure about for the first day. I don't know why, maybe simply because I am no fashion plate, not a tad trendy....and this kid apparently is! I can't explain it really.
DO you think I shoud encourage her to dress up? Are first grade girls dressing up?

My preppy side is cringing that my dd wants to wear black & silver leggings with a lime green tank / blue lace t-shirt over but for me it's about her feeling good & confident so I'd say let her wear whatever she wants :)

Shoes for first day
Let her pick out her outfit. IMO if its appropriate for school kids should dress themselves. Im not big on first day outfits so I let them pick it.
