Crockpot is just a brand name I think.
They are all slow cookers.
I just got a basic one. The size is what mattered most to me- they have all sizes.
I got one that I could make a nice sized meal in- we like leftovers.
I THINK mine has a delay timer on it- so it can turn itself on for you at a later time- but I haven't used that .

Shopping for a slow-cooker/crock pot... what to look for?

I am in the market for a new one and I want it to be at least 7 quarts and to have a timer to go on when I program it and to go off when I program it. I also like the feature of instead of shutting off it goes to warm. Sometimes I am gone for more hours than a recipe calls for and I end up ruining what I am making with my current slow cooker because it is not programmable.

I have THIS ONE and I love it. Digital, programmable, and turns to warm instead of off when done cooking.

Having the feature where it goes to warm instead of off when its done is something that I really like having. that way you don't have to worry about being home when your food is done cooking.

Does this one allow you to start it at a specific time and run for a length of time you set? I read the features but didn't see anything about starting at a specific time.

It doesn't have an automatic on setting (like a coffee maker), but you turn it on yourself and set it to cook for your desired number of hours. Then after the cooking time is up, it switches to warm.

I don't have this one, I have the cheaper version of it though! $54.99 at BBB and I love it! Just bought it last week and have made 3 great meals in it! Chat Icon

I have this one as well and love it, especially the ability to set it and have it automatically switch to warm when time is up.

I have a fancy all-clad one that I got as a shower gift... it has all of these features but my favorite feature is that the crock pot pan can be used on the stove!! so for recipes that say to brown the meat first, you dont need to dirty another pan.

I have this one and I LOVE IT! You can program it (low/high setting) and once it's done it stays on warm. It cleans up super easy and it's lasted a few years already with no issues at all.

I'm in the market for one too.. its a toss up between the Hamilton Beach set and forget and the Crockpot digital. I believe both are 6 quart.
