Shortness of Breath early in pregnancy
I'm only about 7 1/2 weeks pregnant and have had shortness of breath...walking up two flights of stairs at work leaves me tired and I have to try to catch my breath...is this normal?...I haven't exercised in about a month or so because I don't feel well so I was thinking that it might be because of that too...any thoughts...

This is so comforting to hear...does anything help it?

Re: Shortness of Breath early in pregnancy
I had it in the first trimester and now it is worse in the third trimester (now with heart palpatations). I was told to drink more water. Your blood volume is increasing and you need more water to keep up. If you are dehydrated your blood is thicker thus your heart has to work much harder.

Re: Shortness of Breath early in pregnancy
It seems to happen to me most when I first get into bed and lie down.

Re: Shortness of Breath early in pregnancy
It is from hormonal changes and increased blood volume. I had it HORRIBLY this pregnancy..it did get better around 12 weeks but I have moments now at 15 weeks where it creeps up again.
With my son it started early and then got bad at 17 weeks...not fun!

That's when I notice it most too. It doesn't help that my nose is stuffy.
Same for me!!
Then in the morning, all the stuffiness is what can bring on my gagging!!
