Shots...DS is not a happy camper
DH just called (I think I heard panic in his voice) because Lucas is absolutely miserable. He had two shots today at his appt and the doctor warned that he would be cranky but DH seems to be caught off guard with how cranky mr crankypants has become.
No fever but the leg is swollen. Any advice?

Which shot did he get? Did the Ped warn that the site might swell?

The doctor said it would happen and DH just called to talk to him and they confirmed it's normal.

Re: Shots...DS is not a happy camper
This happened with us last week.
Logan was out of control cranky about two hours after his shots and his leg was very red and swollen. He didn't even want to move it.
A cold pack wrapped in a light towel on his leg and a dose of infant tylenol did the trick.
He slept the whole next day too.

The same thing happened after Bella's first round too. We took her pants off and put cold washcloths on each of her legs (they doubled in size). We also gave her some tylenol. She was back to normal in a day or so.

We just got back from getting Alex's first shots. She screamed like a banshee but is sleeping now...
How is DS doing now?

Re: Shots...DS is not a happy camper
Thanks for all of the great advice. DH gave him some tylenol and when I got home I held him for a while (didn't want to play ) and then bath and bed. He slept from 8pm to 6am But no smiles from him when he woke up.
DH called me on the train because Lucas was crying like a maniac. I told him to just hold him - that seems to be what he wants right now. He gave him a lower dose of tylenol and Lucas went back down for a nap at 8am. My poor guy. I just want to get back on the train and go home to him.
