Should BH contractions last 2 hours...
and come every 5 mins? Last night at about 4:15 am I woke up and felt my stomach tightening and getting very hard. It started to get very painful. Then after 2 hours of very consistent "contractions" it just started to fade away gradually.
Is this what BH contractions are or should I call my dr. and let him know what happened?
TIA

How far along are you? BH shouldn't hurt. They just feel like a tightening. They may have been the real deal!

Re: Should BH contractions last 2 hours...
I am 34 weeks but the Dr. said I may go early because of my toxemia.
It got painful and then I felt pressure down there.

My BH contractions hurt a lot because the baby's head was pressing on my perinieum. It felt like knives going in to me. I went to the OB and he said it was BH.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR! I had this for two hours straight at 33 weeks, and they thought I was going into preterm labor. Thank God I did not, and it was BH. It felt like knives being jabbed into me with shooting pains that were almost unbearable. The OB said that BH is different for everyone, but if I get more that 4 in an hour to call him. It does not hurt to call, especially with the toxemia.
ETA: Please keep us posted...

Re: Should BH contractions last 2 hours...
I'm 34 weeks and this just happened to me the other day! I had BH every few minutes, ALL day pretty much. I had just seen my doctor the day before too, and he said unless the BH get stronger, to just rest and drink plenty of water. Well, I DID rest and drink plenty of water, but they wouldn't go away I didn't call the doctor, but I think I will next time it happens (if it happens again). My BH aren't painful though; just annoying.
