Should I be concerned about my feet ballooning? (UPDATE 5/13)
My ankles and feet have swelled to gigantic proportions today. Granted, we did a bunch of walking in stores, but what gives? Does it normally happen this quick? I'm only 25 weeks!
UPDATE: Phew!!!!!! I woke up and my ankles and feet were near normal again!!! I guess I can't do as much walking as I did yesterday. As soon as you ladies told me to put my feet up last night, I stuck to the recliner!!!!
BTW: I saw the doctor on Friday and my blood pressure was still normal, so YAY!!!!! I'm going to keep monitoring! Thank God I stopped my second job of waitressing now!

Re: Should I be concerned about my feet ballooning?
I always read that sudden swelling can be a sign of Preeclampsia. I would get it checked out.

I wouldn't call that "sudden swelling" - being on your feet all day in warm weather can definitely make your feet swell! As long as it goes down after resting w/ your feet up for 30 min or so, you should be okay.
(Of course, you may as well mention it to the doc next time you speak to him/her)

Definitely mention it to your doctor - but unfortunately, this weather is cause for swelling. Fun, isn't it? I can barely walk somedays my feet and snkles are so swollen! And walking always made it worse for me as well....
Rest and keep your feet up! And, as always, drink plenty of water!

I def. think it's the weather. I went to Savannah at 29 weeks and the second I was in the heat my feet and hands blew up. They haven't been the same since.

Mine are swollen but not bad at all-with Juliette I was wearing flip flops from week 20 on at work mid winter...painful swelling... I would just let your dr know.

Re: Should I be concerned about my feet ballooning?
My feet swelled on Friday night as did my legs. I shaved my legs and didn't even feel it-they were awful! I did alot that day and by the next day, it was gone (I'm 18 weeks). I can definitely see flip-flops in the future though.

Re: Should I be concerned about my feet ballooning?
I now officially have elephant feet. It's horrible.
You need to mention it to your dr. to make sure this is not pre-eclampsia.
Also, try to elevate your feet as much as possible.

Re: Should I be concerned about my feet ballooning?
unfortunately i think it's common and can last a LONG time
i might call your doctor just to make sure they don't want to see you for a blood pressure check, but it's probably nothing.
i would try elevating your legs and maybe even buying some pressure hose to wear around the house to help the swelling go down...

This happened to me too this week. I think it's the heat. Yesterday wasn't as bad...but it wasn't as hot either.

Yes and no. Mention it to your doctor and they will monitor it. Mine swelled up at about that point and only got worse.

Re: Should I be concerned about my feet ballooning? (UPDATE 5/13)
Ankles by day, cankles by night 'round these parts......
I find that elevating my feet at the end of the day guarantees I can see my ankle bones by morning.
My doctor checks them at my visits as well.
