Should I bother decorating for the holidays?
Our puppy Lexie is almost 1 (born the day after Christmas) and she DESTROYED my Halloween decorations this fall. I'm dreading putting up a tree, stockings, etc. Should I skip it this year and just get a tiny tree to put up high? What would you do?

Re: Should I bother decorating for the holidays?
I'm nervous about this as well. Yogi turns 1 next week and he loves to steal things DH and I decided that he will not learn, if we don't teach him. He gets locked up in one of the bedrooms during the day when we are not around. And when we are home, we keep a close eye on him. So we decided that he needs to learn not to steal decorations or anything off or under the tree this year.
Good luck!

I am nervous about this too. Lucky is 8 pounds and last year got into a few things but Porter is 60 pounds and he is just clumsy. I am afraid he will accidentally knock over the tree. This is his first christmas and will be a year in december. We are still going to get a tree and decorate for the holidays and just see how it goes. Hopefully he wont destroy anything, knock anything over, or pee on the tree

Re: Should I bother decorating for the holidays?
I can't have anything because mine eat EVERYTHING. I put a few metal things out that I don't have to worry about. I have high ceilings, so I take my ornaments and snowflakes and hang them all from the ceiling on fishing line. It looks SO FESTIVE but I don't have to worry about them breaking them or eating something and needing the 'open the stomach' surgery for $2K. We also decorate an evergreen we have outside. My girlfriend is allergic to pine so they buy a tree every year and decorate it on their porch. I wish I took a pic of the ornaments on the ceiling last year.

I am worried about this too. I just know if I put up a tree the cats will try to climb it!
Kara, I like your idea. Maybe I will try that!

Re: Should I bother decorating for the holidays?
I'm nervous as well. This will be Kasey's 1st Christmas with us so I've got no idea how she'll be with a tree up. Ours is only 3ft. so it will be up on a table, but I'm still concerned about her knocking it down. When we're not home she's in her crate, but even when we're home something can happen. Everything else will have to be out of her reach, hopefully she won't be too interested in our decorations!!
