Should I bring my pump to the hospital?
When I had DS my milk came in within 24 hours - very lucky at that moment (the other 5 months were a different story). I fed DS but my breasted were so engorged that they leaked and dripped. My bed was soaked and no matter how much I squeezed out I was in so much pain.
Has anyone else done this? Is it a crazy idea? Is this something I should ask the doctor? I'll be in a private room so no roommates to worry about.

The hospitals have pumps, you could use one of theirs.

if you've got a pump, i say go for it, put it in your trunk and leave it in there so you don't have to think about it when the big day comes. you've got nothing to lose by bringing it, imo.

Not bring yours. They have the hospital grade ones at the hospital.

Re: Should I bring my pump to the hospital?
I had similar milk issues for both my kids.
The second time, I brought my hand pump. I was glad I did - the LC told me she was going to get me a pump and never did and I fell asleep and woke up so engorged. Also, I gave permission to feed DS#2 formula over night. Since I knew I didn't have issues with milk coming in - the extra sleep was well appreciated (the first two nights they brought him in a half dozen times at least) and we had no issues BFing during the day.

If you have one, bring it! I hated the hospital's pump and wished I had mine which was a 1000x more comfortable!
