Should I call the emergency line or just wait it out? TMI maybe Update: Needs Prayers
Yes I know you ladies aren't drs but you always have great advice.
I've been feeling nauseous and campy since yesterday. The cramps get intense at times but nothing consistent so I don't think they are any kind of contractions, maybe Braxton Hicks but i have no idea. I've been eating (light stuff) and drinking water. I also feel pressure when urinating, and than as soon as I'm done I have to go again but nothing really comes out. My Dh wants me to call the emergency line and see what they say but I'm thinking maybe its just a virus and to wait it out another day? Any advice?
Update**** I went L&D last night after suffering all day. I was severally dehydrated and so sick. They gave me plenty of fluids and medicine for the nauseous. They think it was just a virus but they sent out blood work, St Charles computers were down so I'm waiting on the results today. Than I went for sono and they discovered my cervix is short less than 2cm. I'm on bed rest for now, I go for another sono tomorrow and I'm hoping its improved other wise I'm going to bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy and I'm only 31 weeks. I can't imagine laying here for another 9 weeks. Keep me in your thoughts!!

Re: Should I call the emergency line or just wait it out? TMI maybe
The call line is there for a reason. Just in case they think you should be doing something specific, I think it would be worth it to call. Even just for peace of mind for your husband!
While most pains seem to be normal, the nurses have always told me if I have a sudden change or intensity as far as the pains go that lasts more than an hour or keeps coming back, to give them a call.
I know it's awkward to feel like you're bothering the doctors or the nurses on the weekend, but your health is very important. If they didn't feel it was necessary to be reached during off hours, they wouldn't have the emergency line. It's certainly more worthwhile calling than taking a trip to the emergency room!!
Feel better!!!!

Well, I am glad you went in so that you could get some medical attention and find out about your cervix being short. A friend of mine was on bedrest for more than 9wks because of a short cervix and she has a healthy baby girl now. So, it may really stink for a bit, but it will be worth it in the end!

I'm so sorry you're not feeling well but I'm really glad to hear you got the treatment you needed! Dehydration is no small matter!
Praying everything works out in the end and you are off bedrest soon!

Glad to hear you went to L&D and you are getting better. Bedrest s*cks, I've been on it for a little over a month and will prob be on it for a few more weeks. The bedrest works though!! My cervix has gotten better since being on it! Try to take it easy, drink lots of water and rest. Its annoying but it really does help. Good luck

I had short cervix too, about 1.4cm and was on a bed rest for 10 weeks and now have beautyful baby boy. He was born at 36 weeks, but he was OK. If they do put you on a bed rest, please stay in bed and don't walk unless you have to go to the bathroom. It is very important to stay off your legs. And most of the time by week 36-37 they will take you of the bed rest. Good luck and keep us updated.
