Should I cancel my playdate if my kids had coxsackie last week? WWYD?
3yo DS got coxsackie around June 22 (~12 days ago). The younger one got it a few days after him. They both are totally back to normal but you can see the bumps from last week.
3yo DS returned back to school 5 days ago.
I'm supposed to host a big playdate at my house on Thursday and another one on Friday.
Should I cancel the playdates?
We are also supposed to go to 2 different bbqs on the 4th? Should we not go?
What would you do?

I'd go/would not cancel. It's been a week. They don't have a fever their bumps are healed. I was always under the impression that it was only contagious when they had a fever or during the first week. If you are really concerned call your ped and ask them how long they are contagious for.

i would think if they are cleared to go to school then its fine. they're not contagious anymore.

Personally, I would let everyone know, most will still go or want you to come, but some may have other immune issues where it's better to be safe and informed IMO, then they can make the decision.

I'd cancel. Just say your kid is over a cold & you don't want to expose.
Just imagine the conversations:
"Oh... did your kid have an allergic reaction to something?"
"No... they had coxsackie.. but they are no longer contagious"
Personally... don't flame me... I wouldn't want my kids to be there.
I'm always greatful when people give me a heads up. My little boy got CROUP from a cold a cousin had during Christmas. Almost ended up in hospital. I really wish I was warned.

I rescheduled the playdate. Better safe than sorry.
We did go to our friend's bbq today but we told them. She was fine with it and the kids had a blast today.
