Do you think I'll have any luck? I'm in Massapequa. Where should I even begin?

I found one this morning in the target by me - it was an alarm clock radio - it was near the college supply things.

Do you have a walkman? I keep an old one around and have used it plenty of times during power outages to learn what was going on.

No walkman. Completely forgot about clock radios. I think I may have one stored away.

if power is out (after the storm obviously), you can always use your car radio if you don't find one in a store.

I wouldn't bother, if you need to go out for other things yes but don't make a special trip...

OK! Found the clock radio and it works - plugged in - have to get 9v batteries. Need to run out to the store anyway again b/c I forgot a few things yesterday so I'll pick them up. Thanks for the tips!!!

Radio Shack on Sunrise & Wantagh Ave got some in a little while ago. I ran in when I saw a long line, figured they'd gotten a shipment.

I tried all the alarm clocks in our house yesterday and they only kept the time on battery, the radio wouldn't work on any of them while it did when plugged in.

Re: Should I even bother going out to try to get a battery powered radio?

I got a little battery operated radio this morning at CVS.

I also wanted to add that my radio alarm clock ... only the time runs on battery not the radio...so check this out before you assume you have a radio.

Thanks to whomever suggested MP3 players having radios. I just pulled mine out and sure enough it does!
