Should I give her prednisone?

I have some prednisone left over from Emily's last asthma attack. She is breathing very heavily, and is a little bit wheezy, even though we just finished her 3rd nebulizer treatment since last night. It isn't just that her nose is stuffed up, since I've done saline and the aspirator a few times and I'm pretty sure that is clear.

We have a doc appt at 11:45 but I hate hearing her breathing so heavy. Should I give her a dosage of the prednisone now ---- or wait until we see the doctor? I don't want the asthma to get worse like last time!

Oh, that's a tough call. I'd wait, or at least call first. I get nervous about medicating the kids, you know?

Not only that bit the DR may want to see her with symptoms. If you give her the meds, she may not show any signs by the time you get there.

I am going to wait. I was thinking that too, that the doc might not see her with all of her symptoms, and as much as I want her to feel better, I want the doc to see all of her symptoms so that she can treat her the best.

I just tried to lay her down for a nap. Hopefully she'll be able to relax enough to fall esleep for a little while before the appt.
