Should I just go to the ER tonight, or wait it out?
An ob finally agreed to see me, but said the soonest they can get me in is Dec 10,when I am almost 16 weeks the last time I saw a dr was Oct 11 when I was 7 weeks. I called the local ER and they said I could come in, they could do some blood work, give me a sono, and all that tonight.
Should I wait it out until Dec 10, or just suck it up that I might pass out from more blood work and go tonight?

Dec 10th That means you can't get an ultrascreen. Can the new OB send you for that in the meantime?

Are you just wanting to go in to check on the baby?

Why would the ER want you to come in? Are they affiliated with your dr?
I am so sorry you are not having a smooth transition with a new dr.!

Thanks, I am sure it will only get better, this is probably my fault, I should have found a doctor before I moved
I told them that I couldnt find a doctor to see me and that I havent seen anyone for over a month, so they said I could go there if it would make me feel better

Can you call the Dr. and see if they can send you for the ultrascreen? That is what happens at 12 weeks.

They do not want to send me for anything until I have a complete check up by the doctor
I just called 4 other practices, I am ready to start pulling my hair out

Ok. By then you won't be able to get the ultrascreen but that's no big deal. I would go to the ER for piece of mind. And then on Dec 10th. Good Luck

Re: Should I just go to the ER tonight, or wait it out?
I would say, if you are having a problem like not feeling well, pain or bleeding than go to the ER, but I know they are not going to do the full workup that an office would do. The purpose of an ER visit is to rule out any emergencies, and whatever is routine will not be done there. They may send you to L+D from there, but that is not a guarantee if you have no emergency, and no affiliating doctor. You also run the risk of the insurance company not paying the ER visit if its not for an emergency. The clerk who answered the phone probably does not know what the extent of the visit is and told you that. You also could call back and ask to speak to a doctor and see what he/she says.
I know how frustrated you must be not being able to get into an office, but how about an OB clinic affiliated with a hospital? We often send our patients there if they have no doctor. I hope you are able to get in somewhere, I'm sorry you are going through this!

Re: Should I just go to the ER tonight, or wait it out?
I know its not ideal, but what about Planned Parenthood? Im pretty sure that they do prenatal visits and would see you quicker than you are going to see the dr. At this point, its only a week and a half away though....I wouldnt go to the ER at this point.... ETA: I just saw that you already called the ER and they would do bloodwork and a sonogram...at least that would tell you that the baby is OK...not sure if insurance would cover an ER visit like that though....

Planned Parenthood sounds like your best bet. An ER visit can take several hours especially since it's not an emergency.

I would NOT go to the ER unless you are worried that something is wrong with either yourself or the baby. The ER is FILLED with all sorts of germs and there is no reason to put yourself or your the baby at risk.
