Should I let him sleep?
My DS has nights where he sleeps 4.5-5 hrs. He is 5 weeks old. My question is should I allow him to sleep or wake him every 3 hrs to BF him? Last night I pumped a little instead of waking him. Other times I have gotten him up to feed. I just don't know what to do.

Re: Should I let him sleep?
I was told to wake her up during the day if it goes past say 3 hours, but at night to leave her sleeping.
ETA: Good for you...5 hours at night=NICE!!

Thank you.
It is good, but I keep getting up and checking on him because I think something must be wrong!!

Re: Should I let him sleep?
I never, ever woke Ava if she was sleeping. They know when they are hungry and will certainly let you know

Re: Should I let him sleep?
My ped said never wake a sleeping baby. If he's healthy and gaining weight well you have nothing to worry about.
Logan will usually sleep 4-6 hours at night.

ETA: Good for you...5 hours at night=NICE!! This is what I was told too. I just pump on schedule and then let him sleep.

Re: Should I let him sleep?
when Mikayla was not gainig weight as well as the doctor wanted when she was newborn, he told me I had to feed her every 4 hours at night...once she started gaining, he said to not do that anymore...she slept 10 hours last night
