Should I pack DD shorts, dresses, princess costumes or what for Disney?

I cant figure out if I should go get lots of cheap disney t-shirts and skirts, sun dresses or plan on mostly princess dress up for Disney in two weeks.

What did you pack for your kids?

I would pack shorts and t-shirts and one or two dresses. I would have her wear the shorts/t-shirts and if and when she wants to change bring a dress and let her change in a bathroom. We were there in June and in the Magic Kingdom we only saw one little girl dressed in a princess dress. She had been to the boutique and done up to the nines. She looked cute. Both of my kids noticed that she was dressed up, but neither DS nor DD seemed to care for more than a few seconds. They just wanted to go on the rides and see the characters.

ETA: I would pack normal summer clothing. If you want a mickey shirt fine, but I don't recall seeing lots of kids in them either.

How old is she?

I overpacked for dd, but we went in December. She wore her Cinderella dress one day, jeans the next and capris the next. Weather was all over the place.

Bought her one tinker bell shirt when we were down there. Shr wore that one day.

I have two girls almost 4 and almost 5 and then a 18 month old (who I'm not too worried about)

I was curious if everyone is all disneyed out there or what..thanks so much for your answers! Puts my mind at ease. I;ve never been and am pretty worried about it..

Well when we went it was really hot so I packed what was their coolest outfits. I would say for us that was sun dresses which are usually lightweight and cool. They are easy and can fit easily into a bag (takes up less space usually than shorts and a shirt). I only brought one princess dress for DD#1 (I would bring 2 next time I take the girls so they both have one dress). Honestly the princess dresses are hot and itchy so I noticed a lot of parents brought a change of clothes and the kids changed after their meals. More kids were in costume at night or 1st thing in the morning.

I usually bring 2 outfits a day - plus say 2-3 misc outfits as"extras" that I can bring in case they get 1) wet (run through interactive water areas or caught in the rain), 2) really really dirty (spill ice cream or drink all over themselves), or some other reason. We usually go back during the day for a break and swim so that is usually when I change them. However if you don't plan to go back to the room once a day then you probably don't need a 2nd outfit. The older they get the less you need. My 2 year old needed many more changes than she does now at 4.

I would bring a dress for each girl to wear then. Are you going to have a character meal at the Castle? I would think they would most want to wear them then. Are you staying on the property? Since you have the 18 month old and I am assuming a stroller, you can just pack the extra stuff into a diaper bag.

Have a wonderful time. In one of the stores on Main Street there is a woman with a basket of pins for free that you can get for your "first time" or "birthday" or 'anniversary." Have a great time! I find the more relaxed I am about a trip the better time I have. So my best advice is go with the flow. You might only get a few rides in because of the crowds. Make reservations so you have places to eat before you go. Enjoy!
