Should I send a thank you email, or no?

Today is my last day, and suprisingly, several of the attorneys and secretarys seem a little sad, and have told me they will miss me Chat Icon

Should I send out an email saying thank you to everyone for a great 3 years, or no? They are throwing me a "send off" party today around 4pm - maybe I should just say something then?

I'd send a thank you gift basket on Monday to thank them for the party and the 3 years there!

Re: Should I send a thank you email, or no?

When I left my job, I sent a email with my contact information and thanking everyone only to the people that I was friendly with (not the entire group). But I think if you prefer, you could just thank everyone at the send off. I think an e-mail is just easier - I kept mine very brief!!

I would send a short and sweet goodbye email to those that you worked with-- and include your contact info so people can stay in touch with you. That is what I always do.

I wouldn't send a blanket emial to everyone. but I think a note to thank those who you truly want to thank is ok.

Re: Should I send a thank you email, or no?

At my old firm, every attorney (and most paralegals and secretaries) who left sent a good-bye e-mail thanking everyone and providing contact information. I think it would be a nice gesture.

Yes I think you should...all the attorneys I've ever worked with always sent a heartfelt Thank You to the entire staff and to some of their colleagues.

Today is my last day with my company and I sent a personal note to a few people that I want to keep in touch with after I leave. I think it is a nice thing to do. Chat Icon

I agree - I would say a little something and send the email to my bosses.
