Should I start the kid on milk???

So I am going back to work on January the 4th (boo hiss) and I think its time I try to start weaning Noah onto cows milk...but all the advice I hear is to wait until he is 12 months old. He is 11 months and 1 week...but I don't want to wait until his first birthday to start with milk because I think he should go to Nursery having started on milk. I would bet money that 3 weeks on either side won't make a difference really will it??

At the moment he has 3 7 oz bottles, one at around 7, another at 2.30 and a final one at bedtime, which is 7 pm. I am happy to keep him on one bottle of formula a day (first thing in the am) as he isn't always a big eater...So what do you think? Should I start him on Moo Juice? Do I wait for his 1st Birthday???

And how do I do it??

I started weaning Ry @ 10.5 months- he was fully on milk by 11.5 months... and he is perfectly fine- If Noah's belly cant handle the milk- well than you'll know and you'lll stop using it

I started about the time you did (we were going away just before his 1st bday and wanted to be off BM by then)

I used EBM and substituted 1 oz each few days.

Someone told me that the reason they say to stay on BM/formula until 12 months is not because of allergies, but because poorer families would switch to milk too soon and the baby would miss out on the nutrients from the more expensive formula.

I tried to mix the milk and formula but she hated it so I did it cold turkey, just gave her a bottle of milk and she drained it. I did this around 11 months old.

my Jakey was weaned off formula and onto moo juice at 9 months. Try it, if he handles it fine, then go for it.
