Should I wait and go to the doc or the ER?
About 10AM this morning I started getting a sharp pain in my side (kidney area). I had a kidney stone about 3 years ago to the day (8/19/02). I have the same pain. I took some Tylenol w/ codine and the pain has gone away for the most part but it still hurts. I called my doc who, conveniently, is closed today. Should I wait it out and go tomorrow or should I go to the ER and let them treat me? I will probably get a CT scan and some meds...

if you are doubled over in pain, then yes got to the ER.
If it's a mild pain, I'd wait it out until tomorrow.
Unless you think it's something other than a kidney stone, then get to the ER
Gee, I helped! LOL. Sorry! I hate going to the ER unless I have to have to have to!

Their answering maching has a paging service for the doc but no other doc to go see. Since Ive had one before I know there is nothing a doc can do for me besides send me for a CT scan but they dont do those in the office anyway.

Exactly my issue!!
The odds are they won;t admit you for a mild case of kidney stone adn you may end up at the er for hours waiting for tests. At this point in the day and with 2-kids you may be better to wait until morning. But leave a message with your doctor just in case too.

Yeah, I guess your right. I hate going to the ER, I hate leaving my kids. Last time I was there for 6 hours (1st kidney stone). Emma was 2 months old at the time... I guess Ill just take my last remaining tylenols and hope for the best
