Should I write a book?

I have so many LIRR stories and I could use yours with your permission. Of course I would give you all credits.

I've never done anything like this before..kind of fun, no?

has anyone written a book?

Re: Should I write a book?

I think that would be cute!

Would it be fiction or non-fiction?

I think it would be funny. You could use mine but I don't have that many. The only one was that family from Syosset that I wrote down their conversaions.

There's a website with stories from the rails. I'll try to find it.

oh really? i thought my idea would be original..

I guess it is..a book that only Long Islanders would buy. Maybe I'll donate the proceeds to traumatic brain injury research..

non-fiction all the way...but people outside of LI wouldn't believe it.

Well on the other post people mentioned things from other train lines. Maybe you could get contributions from othe areas of the country.

that's a good idea and it would appeal to more than just LIers.

hmm..I have to give it some thought.

I'd write it as thinly veiled fiction. Or at least consult with an attorney regarding libel law if you write it as non-fiction. Not sure if the LIRR would be able to sue you for writing things that may be percieved as negative. You know?

It's been ok. In the last 4 weeks, I have only commuted 6 times!! I have been away on business and working from home. I have been taking the 7:31. After that, the parking is an issue, although I have only tried one lot - the one where the ticket office is.

yes, my coworker wrote a book - It's called Same Sex In The City. She used to be a lesbian, but is not back to guys. I havent read it yet, but I will some day. If you are serious, I can ask her for some tips.
