Should we do Classes at winthrop
Im 30 weeks 3days and it just came to me OH... no we havent taken classes or scheduled the tour. Is this something you really find necessary. Finances are tight and i think that is what has been keeping me from registering already.

Re: Should we do Classes at winthrop
Im thinking that is what we might do. Any thoughts on the bf class. My mom and MIL both had no luck with this and seem to think it will be the same for me so i dont see them coaching me along.

I am going to try to Breastfeed, but i dont think i will do a class, I hear some people it works out for them and others just have a hard time, so I will just wait and see how it goes..

Re: Should we do Classes at winthrop
I delivered at Winthrop a year ago and things might have changed, but at that time, they didn't offer a tour, just a general orientation that was in a meeting room in a building a few blocks away from the hospital. I found it helpful, so we knew what to expect, but if you are hoping for a hospital tour, you might want to make sure they will do that before you sign up.
We took the BF class and I thought it was kind of a waste of time and money. I didn't learn anything in the class that I hadn't already read or researched before the class. We were supposed to do the childbirth class, but it was scheduled so close to my delivery date that I was too uncomfortable to sit that long in a hard chair, so we skipped it.
I would book the classes on the earlier side if you can - later in the pregnancy you may not want to sit for long and may be too tired to pay attention.
