Should we get her cruisers, walkers or wait?
Emily isn't walking on her own yet. She walks holding onto things, our hands, her toys, etc.
I wanted to buy her a pair of shoes because she is almost a year and I think she might be walking soon.
I just don't know if I should get Stride Rite's Stage 2 - Cruisers (since that's what she's really doing right now), Stage 3 - Walkers --- or just wait until she's really truely walking on her own.

From what I remember from Sammy we got him the cruisers . Mel, if you go to Wantagh Bootery on Wantagh ave. they will help you. I buy all of the shoes there. They are stride rite. After you buy 10 pairs of shoes if if it ian adult shoe you get the 11 free . You just have to sign up for a card. I love that store. I have been going there since I am a little girl.

I'd just stick with shoes like Robeez until she is really up and running.

I agree too. Shoes may actually slow down the process, plus it makes them much more clumsy.

Everything I read said to hold off on shoes (bare feet help give them better balance) until they are walking.

I would wait. The people at the shoe store told me until they are completely walking on their own barefoot is best and even when they are walking barefoot is still best as much as possible. Just my 2 cents.

Bryan walked at 13 months but he just started getting used to walking with his shoes now at 15 months and they had to be the traditional white walkers nothing else- he still is pretty wobbly in them. I would just keep using ( if you are) robeez or socks they are much better for them to lean how to walk.

Re: Should we get her cruisers, walkers or wait?
I've always read that barefoot is best also --- people are just always asking us why she isn't wearing shoes. 3 times we've been out in places like the grocery store and BJs and stuff and people have said "where are her shoes" and I was like what the heck the first time -- but then I started thinking that maybe she should be wearing them.
Well, it'll save us like $40 to so I don't mind holding off -- although I might order a pair of robeez or something like that for the colder weather now that it's here for when she goes outside.
