Should we go...60th birthday party
The COO of the company had left the company (mutual agreement ) and shortly after his departure, his wife who worked in our web development department was let go.
I was always friendly with his wife. We would have lunch together often and she was in our WW group (we have an internal WW group we do).
After she was gone I stayed friendly with her. We would email each other and she would let me know how she was doing with WW.
This morning I check my email and I got an invite to her DH the former COO's 60th birthday party. Nothing fancy, it's in their home on a Saturday evening.
I dont know if I want to go. I dont know who else was invited and I surely dont want to say anything in the office. I know for a fact my boss was definately invited and I know he is going.
I kinda want to go but feel funny...
Would you go???

I would go even if you can only stay a little while due to a "prior engagement"

Re: Should we go...60th birthday party
Thanks.
I think a small appearance would be nice. I am friendly with my boss so if he's going it wont be as awkward. At least I'll know someone
