Show me your living room window treatments

I am having the hardest time trying to decide what to put in our window. We have a large picture window with a casement window on each side.

We have the same type of window. My DH didn't want anything on it because he likes to have light and be able to see outside. I wanted privacy, so we got something a bit in the middle. We put up 2" white wood blinds and some drapes that are tied in the center to help let mnore light in.

I like that, thank you. I forgot to mention our couch was up against the window too, so it was hard for me to visualize anything.Chat Icon

Re: Show me your living room window treatments

we have the same type of window as well.

calico corners has an in-home design comsultant. the charge is $75. i haven't used them but heard their prices are pretty reasonable. i plan to visit the store this week. although i do have some decorating sense, i feel more comfortable working w/ someone that is expereinced. we have several different fabrics on the couches, chairs and pillows and i feel that the treatments need to blend and coordinate w/ all of them.

there are SO many styles and options. here
are examples of various top treatments. these are drapery styles. choose one that best suits the "mood" of your room. i happen to like the queen anne or empire valance w/ knots top valance and some version of pleated drapes. i also like the look of pleated shades w/ these.
