Shower - what should it include?

I don't know why I am involved with planning my own shower Chat Icon but somehow I am.

It's a sit down lunch from 11 - 3 at Crabtree's in floral park.

It include soda and coffee/tea.

What other drinks would you expect at a baby shower at that time?

If you are asking about drinks:

Soda (regular, caffein free and diet)
water
coffee/tea (regular and decaf)
Juice?

Re: Shower - what should it include?

Maybe a punch, or mimosa(sp)?

That's what I'm wondering - should there be "drinks" included?

They want $7 pp for unlimited champagne punch. I think that is a total rip. Pencenzo's offers unlimited chamkpagne punch for $2.50 pp!

I'm just not sure if people will expect alcoholic drinks at a shower from 11 - 2. I think they will....

I wouldnt expect it, and if someone wants one it would be cheaper to just run a bar tab IMO.

Re: Shower - what should it include?

I too would not expect any liquor (incl punch). The location where my shower will be includes the champagne punch, if it didn't we wouldn't have it.

I think water, soda, tea, and coffee are adequate.

A friend's mom once told me, while planning her daughter's baby shower, "If the mom can't drink alcohol, no one will" Chat Icon

I don't know about your group of friends, but mine would find it weird for no alchohol. My shower was a brunch and included mimosas, champagne and bloody mary's. If you do't have a ton of drinkers then just run a bar tab.

I don't think there is a need for alcohol.

I feel ya. DH & I are planning our shower ourselves...

We are having champagne punch, bloody mary's & mimosas, plus bottles of wine during the meal.

We come from a family of drinkers though. I would not expect that much as a guest, KWIM? Usually it is just punch & wine.

If people want to drink, let them know its a cash bar, or just offer champagne punch.
