Shower Cost
How much does it cost for a baby shower in a restaurant verse having one at a house and catered? Say about 30 to 40 people.
Just a round about would be great.
Thanks Girls

Re: Shower Cost
I am having my sister's sprinkle catered at someones house. The price for gourmet sandwiches, wraps, fancy salads etc, is about $9.99 per person. It would be three times that at a place. For 30 people, with favors and decorations and a custom cake it will be around $600.

Re: Shower Cost
The best way to cut costs is to have it at someone's home, but it doesn't necessarily mean it will be cheap.
You have to consider cost of food, drinks, possibly hiring wait staff, renting tables/chairs, a tent etc.
It may be less of a hassle but a few more $ to have it in a restaurant for that many people.
Do you have a budget?

Re: Shower Cost
hmmm, 30-40 is kind of big to have it in a home unless it is outdoors and in a tent. tent / table / chair rentals can get pretty Then you would have to pay for catering....
I think the most cost-effective way to go is to start off asking local restaurants... like greek / italian / chinese places. Their bill will be much lower than traditional restaurants / caterers....

Re: Shower Cost
We are having my second shower in June at the same place we had my first one - four years ago.
It is Morgo's Dynasty in Plainview. It is up scale chinese food. They have a huge, beautiful dinning room with excellent service. You get appetizers and your choice of 3/4 entrees all served family style. On a Saturday, it is $14 pp. You just pay for the soda/drinks. You bring your own cake and they serve it for you.
Last time, we had 40-50 people, this time it is just closest friends and family- about 25.

Re: Shower Cost
to be honest, my family couldnt afford to do anything so big in a restaurant or anything so they threw me one at their house last weekend. We had 25 people and my dad cooked baked ziti, another pasta dish, salad, sausage and meatballs.. we had a cake.. and someone brought spinach dip.. and they said they spent 150-200 bucks. Not bad for a budget baby shower! And, yes, it was very nice! We had fun!
oh yes, and we figured for about 30 people, so there was plenty of food, im sure we could have even fed 40 if we needed to. We bought pasta and sauce and drinks all at BJ's too by the way.
