Shower gift from your Mom or MIL
If your mom or MIL gave you an expensive item for the baby like furniture did they give you another large gift for your shower. I am asking for someone else. Thanks for your help.

My mom got her the furniture and then at the shower this novelty pillow that she "had to get her". Even though it's small, I think it was $$$ Image Attachment(s):

My mom bought me the furniture for both my ds and my dd and i did not expect her to buy me anything at the shower. on her her she bought and still buys plenty of clothes for both!

I haven't had my shower yet but I'm pretty sure it's safe to assume that all grandmothers will continue to buy items for their grandchildren.
I expect my mother and MIL to buy a crapload of stuff for us. I don't necessarily want them to but I'm sure they will.

mom gave me the crib. She is also hosting the shower.. that is a lot IMO
I know MIL and FIL will also be super-generous (shower is this weekend).
I am not expecting anything else at all.... (besides, after the shower, we will have just about everything we need!)

Yes!! Well my MIL bought some of the furniture and paid for the new carpet in his room and bought clothes, etc.
My Mom bought the entire BRU!!!

My MIL bought Andrew the same pillow but it has his initials on it.
She bought it from Noel's something in Lynbrook I think.

My mom threw the party, got me my crib and changing table, bought a bunch of clothing and my expensive diaper bag.
My MIL got my mattress, changing pad and sheets.
That was for the first time.
The second shower my mom is throwing it for me at a restaurant. She bought the bedding and the glider for me. Plus my father said any big ticket items that I don't get he will get for me.
I don't know what my MIL got for me yet. I have to wait for the shower.

My ILs got us the travel system already before there was a shower planned. They buy stuff along the way as well. But at the shower, she had a silver spoon for Ed-lie which I loved. She is dying to know her name (or at least her initials) so she can have it engraved. NO DICE!!!

My mom is either getting us the glider and ottoman or crib, dresser, etc as the shower gift. She's also hosting my shower. I don't think she's buying anything else off my registry.

My mom bought DD's furniture (crib, dresser and changing table), mattress, bedding, clothes and threw the shower.
My MIL bought the pack and play and some clothes.
This time around I am not having a shower but my mom did the same again (minus throwing a shower).

I have no idea what my MIL is getting. She has never been to a baby shower and has no idea what is standard.
My shower is being thrown by my sisters, with my mom helping. My mom is in no position to throw the shower herself. I know my mom will either chip in with my sisters to purchase the furniture or she'll buy something big that no one else has bought.
As for my sisters, who are paying for the shower, I am sure they'll buy small additional gifts for me to open at the shower.

MIL is a SAINT.... she is buying the crib, changing table, armour, mattress and the cradle all from Bellini...and then throwing my shower... And she will probably still get me a gift even though that is way to much...My mother is a pain in the ***...who know what she will give me at the shower...but she has a lot to stand up to after all the MIL is doing!!!

My mil bought us the crib and my father bought us the changing table (they were recalled).. we ended up returning both and got a new crib and armore.
Everyone i know one side buys one piece of furniture and the other buys another piece.

My Mom and MIL are giving us the furniture. My Mom is also making a quilt, a bunch of receiving blankets and embroidering a bunch of onsies. She loves to make stuff

My mom (and Dad) bought the crib, threw the shower, and went to town on baby gifts (clothing, towel sets, filled the entire baby bathtub with products, etc). My mom went WAY overboard.
My MIL (and FIL) bought the changing table and then gave us a few outfits and a stuffed animal at the shower.

I just had my shower on Sunday!!!
Both of our parents hosted (and paid for) the shower at my mom's house.
My parents got us:
The baby's crib
Mattress
Clothes
Stuffed animals
Sheets
Blankets
DH's parents got us:
Homemade blankets
Clothes
Travel system
Toys
They have already spoiled this little  .
